Computer Running Slow?
Ever wonder why your computer is running slower than it did when your first got it from the store? 99% of the time this is caused by programs starting up and running in the background. These programs are installed when you install new applications. Below we will show you the best methods for removing unwanted startup programs.
One of the first steps to speeding up your computer is to remove those programs. You can do this easily with a program built into Windows called "MSConfig" MSConfig is a utility that allows you to remove startup programs from your computer.
Step 1. Login with your administrative account on Windows XP, VISTA, 7.
Step 2. Press the Windows Key + R (Windows Key can be found between the CTRL and ALT keys on your keyboard)
You will see a box simular to the one below.
Step 3. Type in msconfig in the space next to "Open" and press OK.

After you press OK the System Configuration Utility will open.

Select the Startup Tab

Uncheck the programs you do not want to startup. (Do not worry if you turn off a program you need. You can always turn it back on by going to MSConfig again)

After you hit Apply and OK it will ask for you to restart. You can select exit without start until you're ready to restart.

Once your computer comes back on you will see a box saying changes have been made to your system. Check do not show this message again and press OK. It might open the MSConfig Utility. Press the X at the top of the box to close.

Fake Anti-Virus Software

You might have seen something similar on your computer or possible a friend’s computer. What you are viewing right now is called Rouge. In this day of age you need more than just an anti-virus to protect you. Our suggestion is having your favorite anti-virus software running with a powerful spyware solution. We suggest is to run Super Anti-Spyware or MalwareBytes. SAS and MWB are the two programs we use to remove the Rouge fake anti-virus from our customers computers. If you are infected with Rouge, or notice your computer is running slow. Download and run the latest Super Anti-Spyware and MalwareBytes to run on your computer. If you are not running an anti-virus solution we suggest running Kaspersky or the paid edition of AVG. The free edition of AVG does not come with live active scanning which is required to catch Rouge.
